The Emmy 2023 nominees have been announced so here is a list of the main categories and how the voting takes place.

US TV has released countless hit series this year, from The Last Of Us‘ clicker hunts keeping viewers on the edge of their seats, to the Roy family’s fight for control in Succession. The battle of 2022 to 2023’s biggest shows will be culminating with TV’s most prestigious night in September, but not without narrowing down the Emmy Award finalists.

Succession is presumed to dominate the drama series, but it is facing some serious competition from other HBO fan-favorites and the final season of Better Call Saul among others. The nominees have been announced in July so read on to find out stars in the running for a 75th Emmy Award.

Emmy 2023: Nomination list and top fan predictions

The Emmy 2023 nomination announcement was presented by Community actress Yvette Nicole Brown and the Television Academy Chairman Frank Scherma on Wednesday at 8:30am ET.

Brown received an Emmy nod in 2021 for outstanding guest actress as Judge Harper in A Black Lady Sketch Show.

How does Emmys 2023 voting work?

The public cannot vote for their favorite shows and celebrity stars. Since the Emmy Award is a symbol of peer recognition, only members of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences – also known as the Television Academy – can vote. The Academy has nearly 20,000 members who are divided into 31 groups of specialized fields, such as performers, music, and casting directors.

Members can only vote for nominees and winners in categories related to their area of specialty.

Can you buy tickets to the Emmy Awards and red carpet?

Show tickets cannot be purchased as they are offered on an as-available basis to Television Academy Active and Associate members and nominees.
